Operational report of the PNA from 25th to 31st May 2022
Within the dynamics of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of the People's National Army carried out, from 25th to 31st May 2022, several operations that led to quality results, reflecting the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of the fight against terrorism, detachments of the People's National Army discovered and destroyed, in Tebessa and Skikda, three (03) homemade bombs.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the intense efforts aimed at countering the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of the People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services in the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (03) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce large quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (06) quintals and (36) kilograms of treated kif, while (26) other drug traffickers were arrested in their possession (118.5) kilograms of the same substance and (41,627) psychotropic tablets during various operations carried out through the other Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of the People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf, (183) individuals and seized (19) vehicles, (229) generators, (117) jackhammers and detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations, while (04) other individuals were apprehended and (03) hunting rifles, one (01) automatic pistol and (36,464) packets of tobacco were seized in Ouargla, El-Oued, In Amenas and Setif. Similarly, Border Guards along with the National Security services, thwarted attempts to smuggle quantities of fuel amounting to (61,248) liters in Tamanrasset, Adrar, Tebessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras.
In another context, Coast Guards thwarted, attempts at illegal emigration and proceeded to the rescue of (17) individuals on artisanal boats, while (324) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested throughout the national territory.
