Lieutenant General, Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff People's National Army visiting the 2nd Military Region
Within the dynamics of the execution of the 2021/2022 combat readiness program, and within the continuity with inspection visits to the various Military Regions, the Lieutenant General, Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army started this Sunday, 22nd May 2022, , a working visit to the 2nd Military Region in Oran.
At the beginning of the visit and after the welcoming ceremony by the Major General Djamel HADJ LAROUSSI, Commander of the 2nd Military Region, the Lieutenant General observed a minute’s silence in the memory of the deceased Moudjahid Ahmed BOUDJENANE known as "Si Abbès" whose headquarters of the Region bears the name, and laid a wreath of flowers in front of the commemorative stele before reciting the Fatiha on his soul and on those of our valiant Chouhada.
Subsequently, the Lieutenant General held a meeting with the executives and the personnel of the 2nd Military Region, where he delivered a speech, broadcast via by videoconference to all the units of the Region, through which he stressed that the initiatives of the high authorities of the State, aiming to consolidate national cohesion and strengthening the internal front, are the indisputable proof of a sincere political will to gather and unify the national forces, in particular in the light of the prevailing international context:
“The consolidation of the foundations of the New Algeria is a collective responsibility, the construction which must be done with the participation of all its devoted children, who dedicate for the Nation an unwavering loyalty and noble feelings.
In this context, the ''Outstretched Hand'' Initiative, recently announced by Mr. Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, is part of the aim of consolidating the national unity and strengthen the internal front. An initiative that undeniably proves a sincere political will of the country's high authorities, to bring together and unify national forces, particularly in the light of the prevailing international context.
Fully convinced of the vitality of this laudable national approach, I invite the dear children of the homeland to make the supreme interests of the Nation prevail and to strongly adhere to this noble initiative, inspired by the values of our authentic nation and the principles of our glorious Revolution, and which is in perfect harmony with the legitimate aspirations of our youth for a better future"..
On this occasion, the Lieutenant General emphasized that the unity and cohesion of people are the secret of Algeria's strength and of its success in thwarting its enemies who work, day and night, by using all possible ways and means, to spread the discourse of discord, division and hatred between the components of the same people:
“Our enemies are well aware that the secret of our strength lies in our unity. They work in this way, day and night, and try through all possible ways and means to undermine our unity, by spreading a discourse of discord, division and hatred between the components of the same people by means of propaganda, disinformation and rumours, in order to sow confusion and destabilize our country.
These conspiracies and these hostile practices, although their subterfuges are exposed in broad daylight, call on all of us, each from his position, to discern their true objectives and thwart them with firmness and determination, with the highest degrees of awareness and ensure that the reconfiguration of the world does not take place in our absence and to the detriment of our vital interests, not to be satisfied with a passive adhesion to the new map of the world, with its economic and cultural models”..
At the end of the meeting, the personnel of the Region expressed their full availability to take up all the challenges and to face all the threats in order to preserve the security and stability of the country and safeguard national sovereignty.
