3rd Day of the visit of the Lieutenant General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA, to the 2nd Military Region
On the third day of his visit to the 2nd Military Region, the Lieutenant General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army supervised, at the level of the firing range and manoeuvres of the Region, in the presence of the Major General Djamel HADJ LAAROUSSI, Commander of the 2nd Military Region and the Major General Hasnat BELKACEM, interim Chief of Department of Employment and Preparation/S-PNA, the running of a tactical exercise with live ammunition, carried out by units of the 36th Motorized Infantry Brigade supported by combined arms units. The exercise aims to optimize the operational capabilities and the interoperability of the general staffs, and the training of commanders and general staffs in the preparation, planning and conduct of operations in circumstances close to reality.
At the 8th Armoured Division headquarters, after the welcoming ceremony, the Lieutenant General followed a presentation by the Commander of the Region, about the general idea, as well as a presentation given by the Brigade Commander on the steps of performing this tactical exercise. The Lieutenant General subsequently followed, at the level of the firing and manoeuvring range, the progress of the combat actions of the exercise carried out by the mobilized units. These actions, with professional nature on the tactical and operational levels, reflect the great operational capacities of the crews and commanders at all levels, in particular with regard to the efficient exploitation of the field, the close operational coordination between the participating units, the confirmed skills of the executives in terms of mounting and conducting the various combat actions, as well as the competence and the ability of the crews to master the various armament systems and provided equipment, which contributed to very satisfactory results reflected in the precision of the shots with the various weapons.
Afterwards, the Lieutenant General met the personnel of the units having taken part in this tactical exercise carried out at the level of the firing and manoeuvres range of the Region, and via videoconference, with the personnel who participated in the naval exercise carried out at the firing range of the Western Maritime Façade, in order to carry out an objective and real evaluation of the two exercises, which were crowned with great success on all levels of planning, preparation and of execution. The Lieutenant General wished to present his congratulations to the executives and personnel of the units that took part in the exercise for the great efforts they have made throughout the year of combat readiness 2021-2022, emphasizing the imperative of bringing together all the necessary and adequate conditions for all the units and formations mobilized throughout the territory of the 2nd Military Region, so that they can honour the missions assigned to them, in particular in terms of continuous preparation and development of combat and operational capabilities.
At the end, the Lieutenant General inspected the field hospital deployed during the course of this tactical exercise, and which is equipped with all the medical equipment necessary for this situation including delicate surgery rooms, before inquiring about the fuel supply battalion in charge of providing logistical support missions for the benefit of the various units.
Finally, the Lieutenant General reviewed units of the 36th Motorized Infantry Brigade, and those engaged in this exercise.
