Within the framework of his visit to the 5th Military Region, the Lieutenant General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, supervised, yesterday 18th May 2022, at the level of the Shooting and Manoeuvring Polygon of Amdoukal, a night tactical exercise, with live ammunition entitled "RADAA 2022", carried out by the components of the 1st Armoured Division and units of different arms and Forces.
At the beginning, the Lieutenant General followed presentations respectively presented by the Commander of the 5th Military Region and the Commander of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Division, including the general idea of the exercise, split in two phases, the first one was theoretical, with the participation of the staff of the Regional Commands and the participating units, the second one was dynamic, with the executing units action.


At the level of the Shooting and Manoeuvring Polygon, the Lieutenant General closely followed the progress of the exercise, carried out at night, in conditions close to reality, in accordance with the established plan. The objectives of this exercise consist in improving the abilities of the General staffs to prepare and organize night combat actions and the coordination between the different forces, in addition to provide Commanders with the necessary experience in leading units and to allow troops to master systems weapon, and to evaluate the various of operational readiness indicators and the ability to carry out, in all circumstances, night combat missions.
The execution of this exercise demonstrated the ability of the participating units to successfully achieve the assigned tasks. This feat, which is the fruit of the troops mastery of various modern weapons and equipment, also demonstrates the development and the operational readiness achieved by our armed forces in recent years.


At the end of the exercise, the Lieutenant General inspected the participating units in the exercise and met the personnel of latter to congratulate them for the enormous efforts provided during the combat preparation year, as well as during the preparation and execution of this exercise. In this context, he affirmed that the real development and improvement of performance necessarily requires that particular attention be paid to the preparation and the execution of exercises at the various levels, in particular at the end of the annual program of preparation forces. Finally, he delivered a series of instructions and guidelines, focusing on the need for an objective assessment of the results of this exercise, in order to further consolidate them and achieve the expected progress in this area.
