Operational report of the PNA from May 04th to May 10th 2022
Within the dynamics of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of the People's National Army carried out, from May 04th to May 10th 2022, several operations that led to quality results reflecting the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of the fight against terrorism, detachments of the People's National Army arrested (06) support elements for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the intense efforts aimed at countering the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of the People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services at the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (15) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (03) quintals and (88) kilograms of processed kif, while (19) other drug traffickers were arrested with (154) kilograms of the same substance as well as (73886) psychotropic tablets during various operations carried out through the other Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of the People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam and Djanet (178) individuals and seized (15) vehicles, (221) generators, (123) jackhammers, quantities explosives, detonation tools and equipments used in illicit gold mining operations, while (08) other individuals were apprehended and one (01) Kalashnikov type submachine gun, (06) hunting rifles, (02 ) automatic pistols, (33,000) packets of tobacco and (10,500) units of various beverages were seized in In Amenas, El-Oued, Biskra, Batna and Tamanrasset. Similarly, the Border Guards thwarted attempts to smuggle quantities of fuel amounting to (6327) liters in Tébessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras.
In another context, the Coast Guards thwarted, attempts at illegal emigration and proceeded to the rescue of (172) individuals on board artisanal boats, while (86) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested throughout the national territory.
