Within the dynamic of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 11th to 17th May 2022, several operations which led to high quality results which reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:

      Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (07) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory, while another detachment recovered, in Illizi, two (02) submachine guns type Kalashnikov and a quantity of ammunition. Similarly, two (02) homemade bombs were discovered and destroyed in Batna and Bouira.


      Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the intense efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army have arrested, in coordination with the various security services at the level of the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (14) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce huge quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (15) quintals and (11) kilograms of treated kif, while (22) other drug traffickers were arrested in possession of (25) kilograms of the same substance and (190,067) psychotropic tablets during numerous operations carried out across the other Military Regions.



      In addition, National Gendarmerie services of Oran apprehended one (01) individual, discovered a firearm repair workshop and recovered (04) hunting rifles, (02) shotguns, (16) handicraft rifles, as well as parts and spare parts for fire guns and other tools used in the repair and maintenance of weapons.

      In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf, People's National Army detachments intercepted (202) individuals and seized (26) vehicles, (219) generators, (139) jackhammers, (55) metal detectors, quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, as well as (46) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, while (03) other individuals were apprehended and (04) hunting rifles, (3,000) cartridges, (62,300) packets of tobacco, (31,204) units of different beverages and (42.5) tonnes of foodstuffs intended for smuggling were seized in Ouargla, El-Oued, Biskra, Adrar, Tebessa and Bordj Badji Mokhtar. Similarly, Border Guards thwarted smuggle attempts of quantities of fuel amounting to (13,592) litres in Tebessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras.

      In another context, Coast Guards thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (86) individuals on board homemade boats, while (147) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested throughout the national territory.
