Operational report of PNA from 23rd February to 1st March 2022
Within the dynamics of continuous efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 23rd February to 1st March 2022, several operations crowned with quality results which reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested, in separate operations carried out across the national territory, (17) elements of support for terrorist groups, while another detachment of PNA discovered and destroyed, in Boumerdes, two (02) casemates for terrorists and one (01) homemade bomb.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and within continuity with the sustained efforts aiming to contain drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services across the Military Regions, (27) drug traffickers and seized (70.5) kilograms of treated kif and (333,026) psychotropic tablets.
In addition, detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Bechar, Djanet and Tindouf (959) individuals and seized (32) vehicles, (515) generators, (295) jackhammers, quantities of explosives, detonation tools and other equipment used in illegal gold mining operations, as well as (83) tonnes of raw gold and stones mixture, while (14) other individuals were apprehended, and (08) hunting rifles, (06) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling, as well as (125) quintals of tobacco and (1,653) units of various beverages were seized in Setif, Ain Defla, Biskra, Khenchela, El -Oued and In-Guezzam. Similarly, Border Guards thwarted smuggle attempts of quantities of fuel amounting to (14,160) litres in Tebessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras.
In another context, Coast Guards thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, several illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (69) individuals on board artisanal boats, while (227) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested in Djanet, Tlemcen, In-Amenas and Souk-Ahras.
