Within the dynamics of the continuous efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of the People's National Army carried out, from March 02nd to 08th March 2022, several operations that led to quality results. Reflecting the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:

      Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of the People's National Army arrested (17) elements of support to terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory.

      Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the intense efforts aimed at countering the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of the People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services in the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (08) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce huge quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (14) quintals and (52) kilograms of treated kif , while (31) other drug traffickers were arrested, and (39) kilograms of the same substance as well as (32,821) psychotropic tablets were seized in various operations carried out across the other Military Regions.



      In addition, detachments of the People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf (475) individuals and seized (31) vehicles, (161) generators, (145) jackhammers, quantities of explosives, detonation tools and other equipments used in illicit gold mining operations, while (07) other individuals were apprehended, and (06) hunting rifles and (17) quintals of tobacco were seized in Khenchla, Setif and Djanet.



      In the same context, Border Guards thwarted attempts to smuggle large quantities of fuel amounting to (81,664) litres in Tamanrasset, Tebessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras, while (184) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested in Timimoune, Djanet, Ouargla, Tlemcen and Naama.
