Operational report of PNA from 09th to 15th March 2022
Within the dynamics of the continuous efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 09th to 15th March 2022, several operations which led to high quality results and reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (07) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory, while other detachments discovered and destroyed, in Boumerdes and Tipaza, (05) casemates for terrorists, (02) homemade bombs, one (01) pomp rifle and other effects.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and within the continuity with the intense efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army have arrested, in coordination with the various security services at the level of territories of the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (07) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce huge quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (17) quintals of treated kif, while (31) other drug traffickers were arrested in possession of one (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, one (01) automatic pistol, a quantity of ammunition, as well as (37) kilograms of treated kif and one (01) million and (55,707) psychotropic tablets seized during various operations carried out across the other Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf (326) individuals and seized (16) vehicles, (168) generators, (137) jackhammers, (12) metal detectors, quantities of explosives, detonation tools and other equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (05) other individuals were apprehended, and (15) hunting rifles, (78,735) cartridges, in addition to (37) quintals of tobacco and (36.5) tonnes of foodstuffs intended for smuggling were seized in Bordj Bou Areridj, El-Oued, Biskra, Batna, Tizi Ouzou and In Guezzam.
In the same context, Border Guards thwarted to smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting to (21408) litres in Tamanrasset, Tebessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras, while (293) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested in Djanet, Tlemcen, In Salah, Adrar, Bechar and Ouargla.
