Operational report of the PNA from March 16th to March 22nd, 2022
Within the dynamics of the continuous efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of the People's National Army carried out, from March 16th to Marsh 22nd, 2022, several operations that led to quality results reflecting the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of the fight against terrorism, detachments of the People's National Army arrested (05) support elements for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the intense efforts aimed at countering the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of the People's National Army have arrested, in coordination with the various security services in the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (23) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce huge quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (09) quintals and (92) kilograms of treated kif , while (46) other drug traffickers were arrested, and (30) kilograms of the same substance and (285,461) psychotropic tablets were seized during various operations carried out across the other Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of the People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf (559) individuals and seized (27) vehicles, (123) generators, (117) jackhammers, (44) tonnes of mixed raw gold and stones, quantities of explosives and detonating tools and other equipment used in illicit gold mining operations, while (17) other individuals were apprehended, in their possession (36) hunting rifles with (7330) cartridges, in addition to (114490) packets of cigarettes and (71) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling seized in Oum El-Bouaghi, Ouargla, El-Menea, El- Oued, Biskra, Khenchela, Batna and In Guezzam.
In the same context, the Border Guards thwarted attempts to smuggle large quantities of fuel amounting to (50,080) litres in Tamanrasset, Adrar, Tebessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras, while (135) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested in Djanet, Tlemcen, In Salah, Bechar and Ouargla.
