Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 23rd to 29th March 2022, several operations which led to high quality results and reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:

      Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (11) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory.

      Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the intense efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services at the 2nd and the 3rd Military Regions, (16) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce huge quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (28) quintals and (67) kilograms of treated kif , while (55) other drug traffickers were arrested, and one (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, (91) kilograms of treated kif and (38773) psychotropic tablets were seized during numerous operations carried out across the other Military Regions .




      In addition, detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf (405) individuals and seized (18) vehicles, (191) generators, (115) jackhammers, (11) tonnes of raw gold and stones mixture, quantities of explosives and detonating tools and other equipment used in illegal gold mining operations, while (16) other individuals were apprehended, in their possession (10) hunting rifles, (1113) cartridges, (02) automatic pistols, in addition to (24980) packets of cigarettes and (15) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling seized in In Amenas, El-Oued, Oum El-Bouaghi, Batna, Djelfa and M'sila.



      In the same context, the Border Guards thwarted smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting to (14836) litres in Tébessa, El-Tarf, Souk Ahras and Bordj Badji Mokhtar, while (165) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested in Djanet, Tlemcen, In Amenas and Ouargla
