General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA receives in audience the General Mohammed Othman El-Houssein, Chief of Staff of the Sudanese Armed Forces

      General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA received in audience, this Tuesday 22nd November 2022, at people’s National Army Headquarters, the General Mohammed Othman El-Houssein, Chief of Staff of the Sudanese Armed Forces, who is visiting Algeria at the head of a large military delegation.

  

      The welcoming ceremony began with the salute of the national flag, followed by the military salute presented to the delegation by a military formation, representing the various Forces of People's National Army.

  

      During this meeting, in which took part the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence, the Commanders of Forces, the chiefs of Departments and Central Directors of PNA General Staff and of Ministry of National Defence, as well as the Sudan Ambassador in Algiers and the members of the Sudanese military delegation, the two parties discussed the regional security context, where they underlined the need to joint efforts to take up the security challenges and to explore the ways and means, able to strengthen the relations of cooperation between the two countries. Moreover the two sides exchanged points of view on issues of common interest.

  

      On this occasion, the General delivered a speech, in which he welcomed the host delegation, emphasizing that this visit will undoubtedly be an opportunity for the two parties to exchange views on the situation prevailing on the international scene in general, and in Africa in particular:

  

      "First of all, allow me to welcome you and the delegation accompanying you to People's National Army General staff headquarters hoping that your visit to Algeria will be sanctioned with beneficial results for the cooperation process, as well as for the brotherly relations that bind the Armed Forces of our two countries.
      This visit will obviously allow us to exchange views on the situation prevailing on the international scene in general and in Africa in particular".


      The General expressed his willingness to work together to consolidate the historical relations that bind the two brother countries, notably through the revival of cooperation activities, and fulfil the requirement of the current regional context and take up common security challenges:

  

      "I would like to assure you of our willingness to work together towards the consolidation of the historical relations that bind the two brother countries, especially through the revival of cooperation activities, take up the demands of the current regional environment and the common security challenges that we are facing.
      Likewise, I am convinced that the regular exchange of visits and the multiplication of contacts between the armed forces of our respective countries will make it possible to define areas of bilateral cooperation."


      In the end of this meeting, the two parties exchanged symbolic gifts, before General Mohammed Othman El-Houssein signed the guestbook of PNA General Staff.
