General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA receives in audience Chief of the Tanzanian People's Defence Force, General Jakob John MKONDA

      General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army received in audience, this Tuesday, 29th November 2022, at People's National Army headquarters, General Jakob John MKONDA, Chief of the Tanzanian People's Defence Force, who is carrying out a visit to Algeria, leading a large military delegation.

  

      The welcoming ceremony began with the salute of the national flag, followed by the military salute presented to the delegation by a military formation representing the various Forces of People's National Army.

      During this meeting, which was attended by the Commanders of Forces, the Chiefs of Departments and the Central Directors of People's National Army General Staff and of the Ministry of National Defence alongside members of the Tanzanian delegation, the two parties discussed the security challenges facing the African continent, exchanged views on the most appropriate ways to deal with the various threats and examined ways to strengthen military cooperation relations between the two countries.

  

      On this occasion, the General delivered a speech, at the beginning of which he welcomed the host delegation, emphasizing that the effort provided by the two parties must be accentuated on the development of a long lasting cooperation, based on trust, taking mutual interests into consideration and strengthening dialogue between the two Armies:

  

      "Concerning bilateral military cooperation between our Armed Forces, and as I mentioned at the beginning of my speech, I remain convinced that, in the light of the real will that drives us, we are going to work, together, in a pragmatic and concerted way, to establish and to develop a long lasting cooperation, based on trust, consideration of mutual interests and the strengthening of dialogue between our two institutions".

      General also emphasized the full readiness of our country to exchange expertise in the field of the fight against terrorism, while affirming his sincere desire to join efforts in order to achieve cooperation commensurate with the aspirations of the peoples of the two friendly countries, in particular to advance peace and security initiatives on the African continent:

  

      "On this occasion, I would like to announce our full availability to work together on security issues and to exchange expertise in the field of the fight against terrorism. Your visit today is an opportunity to materialize our cooperation through a wide range of areas of mutual understanding and common interest.
Before concluding my statement, I assure you of our sincere desire to join our efforts in order to achieve cooperation commensurate with the aspirations of our two peoples, in the interest of our two military institutions aiming to advance the initiatives of peace and security on the African continent".
      For his part, the Chief of the Tanzanian People's Defense Force expressed happiness for visiting Algeria, which allowed him to discuss the various security issues on the international and the continental scene, underlining the convergence of points of view between the two parties, which leads the way to constructive and fruitful cooperation in the future for both countries.
