"This conference entitled: Information and preservation of memory: A commitment and responsibility to strengthen national defence, coincides with the commemorative festivities of the 60th anniversary of the recovery of our national independence, in this sacred month of November, month of the Glorious Revolution, which liberated the Algerian people from the repression of barbaric colonialism, announced a new era for our Nation, and united the Algerians around a single cause: to recover freedom and free themselves from subjection, by giving the most illustrious images of bravery, sacrifice and abnegation.
Inspired by this glorious history our country marked this sixtieth year of independence in the era of new Algeria, which the outlines were drawn by the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, through the organization of an important military parade. furthermore it recalled the symbolism of the place and the date, by hosting, on the occasion of the celebration of the 68th anniversary of the Glorious Revolution of Liberation outbreak, an important Arab event, namely the work of the 31st Summit of the Arab League, a memorable Summit, both in terms of its representativeness and in terms of the historic decisions adopted, thus reflecting our unfailing attachment to our illustrious history".
The general recalled that one of the greatest challenges facing our country today relates to attempts to break the attachment of our people to his memory and lead them to break with the principles and the values that its elders carried and defended with all that they held most dear by emphasizing that our country is perfectly aware and is working to combat this toxic thoughts and to annihilate its effect by attaching great importance to the memory file as an intrinsic pillar of the edification of new Algeria, in particular through all decisions which testify our authentic values and our attachment to our identity and our illustrious history:

"Our country is absolutely aware and is working to combat this toxic thoughts and to annihilate its effect. In this context the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence attaches great importance to the file of memory as an intrinsic pillar of the new Algeria edification, in particular against the insidious intentions targeting the national memory of Algerian nation.
In this sense, the president of the republic reiterates, on every occasion, the duty to preserve it and to give it the deserved intention and interest, like the efforts aiming to repatriate the remains of the chouhada of popular resistance from -Musée de l’Homme- in Paris and bury them in the land for which they fell as martyrs, institutionalize 8th May of each year as National Day of remembrance and to decree a minute’s silence commemorating the 17th October 1961 Massacres without forgetting the launch of E-dhakira channel, while paying particular attentions to national events.
All these actions reflect the noblest image of loyalty and fidelity to the sacrifice of millions of chouhada and testify our authentic values and our attachment to our identity and our illustrious history"
