General Said CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA presided on Tuesday 25th October 2022, the ceremony of the 50th edition of the Algerian Military Football Cup final, at the Regional Military Sports Complex of Blida in the 1st Military Region, between the Land Forces Command team and the Fourth Military Region team.
After the welcoming ceremony the General joined the official tribune of the Complex to follow the final meeting, in presence of Minister of Youth and Sports, Minister of Communication and Minister of Culture and Arts, as well as Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence, Commanders of Forces and National Gendarmerie, Commanders of the 1st and 4th Military Regions, Chiefs of Departments and Directors and Chiefs of Central Services of the Ministry of National Defence and of People’s National Army General Staff and some guests.
Before the beginning of the match, the audience observed a minute’s silence in tribute to the late Abderrahmane MAHDAOUI, former coach of the National Military Football Team.
The first half of the match was characterized by equal opportunities between the two teams until the opening of the score by the 4th Military Region team in the 36th minute, a goal scored by the attacker, Staff Sergeant, AROUS Anis after a shot from a stopped ball concluded by a head, the referee whistled the end of the first half on the score of 1-0 in favour of the 4th Military Region team.

In the second half time, players of Land Forces Command selection multiplied the offensives with the purpose of reducing the gap. Efforts crowned with a goal scored by Contract Lance Corporal AZOUNI Maamer in the 96th minute of the additional time. The game ended on the score of a goal everywhere. The two teams were separated by a penalty shootout which resulted in the victory of the 4th RM team on a score of 5-4, winning the Algerian Military Football Cup. At the end of the match, the General handed out the medals to both teams, before awarding the Algerian Military Cup to the selection of the 4th Military Region.


It should be noted that at the half-time of this final, the General has honoured personalities of the national sport, like Mohamed MAOUCHE, member of the Foundation of former players of the team of the National Liberation Front of Football, former World and Olympic Champion NourEddine MORSLI, recently awarded in South Korea by the International Olympic Committee of the International Order of Merit, Djamel BELMADI coach of National Football Team, National Football Team Coach of local players Madjid BOUGHUERRA, National Football Team Coach of (U-17) Arezki ROUMANE as well as the family of the former coach of the National Military Football Team, the defunct Abderrahmane MAHDAOUI. The General also honoured the athlete retired Lance Corporal Ali KOULAL, who was injured in the fight against terrorism and gave him an athletic wheelchair with his accessories.
