Operational report of PNA from 05th to 11th October 2022
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 05th to 11th October 2022, several operations which led to high quality results which reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (05) support elements for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory, while another detachment seized one (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov during a search and raking operation in Adrar.
Within the framework of fight against organized crime and in continuity with the intense efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of PNA arrested, in coordination with various security services during numerous operations carried out across the Military Regions, (65) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce large quantities of drugs from the borders with Morocco, amounting to (08) quintals and (76) kilograms of treated kif, while (475,772) psychotropic tablets were also seized.
In addition, detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam and Djanet, (69) individuals and seized (21) vehicles, (50) generators, (29) jackhammers, (19) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, as well as detonating tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (62) other individuals were arrested and (17) hunting rifles, one (01) automatic pistol, (16,609) cartridges, quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (258) tons, as well as (80) quintals of tobacco, (129,255) units of pyrotechnic articles, (6,030) units of various drinks and (29.5) tons of copper waste were seized in Ouargla, El-Oued, Laghouat, Biskra, Djelfa, In Guezzam, Tiaret, Mascara, Souk Ahras, Batna and Skikda. Similarly, Border Guards thwarted, in coordination with National Gendarmerie services, smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting to (53,723) litres in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tebessa, Souk Ahras and El-Tarf.
In addition, Coast Guard thwarted, in our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (293) individuals on board craft-built boats, while (107) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
