Operational report of PNA from 12th to 18th October 2022
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out, during the period from 12th to 18th October 2022, several operations which led to high quality results that reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of fight against terrorism, a detachment of People’s National Army eliminated two (02) terrorists during a search and raking operation in the area of Chaabet Taouririne in Tipaza and recovered two(02) machine guns type Kalashnikov, six (06) ammunition magazines and two (02) pairs of binoculars, while one (01) handmade bomb and explosives were recovered and destroyed during the same operation. In the same context, another detachment of People’s National Army discovered and destroyed two (02) terrorists casemates and (31) kilograms of (TNT) explosives during a search and raking operation in Medea, while one (01) support element for terrorist groups was arrested in Djanet.
Within the framework of fight against organized crime and in continuity with the intense efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of PNA arrested, in coordination with various security services during numerous operations carried out across the Military Regions, (46) drug traffickers, seized one (01) FMPK machine gun, one (01) machine gun type Kalashnikov and a quantity of ammunition, while attempts to introduce large quantities of drugs, amounting to (05) quintals and (69) kilograms of treated kif, from the borders with Morocco were thwarted and (221,036) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In addition, detachments of PNA intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet, Tindouf and In Saleh (317) individuals and seized (33) vehicles, (198) generators, (176) jackhammers, (14) metal detectors, (8.3) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, as well as detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (23) other individuals were arrested and (19) hunting rifles, quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (48) tons, as well as (46) quintals of tobacco and (10,453) units of various drinks were seized in separate operations across the national territory. Furthermore, Border Guards thwarted, in coordination with National Gendarmerie services, smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting (49,060) litres in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Adrar, Tebessa, Souk Ahras, El-Tarf and Ouargla.
In addition, Coast Guard thwarted, in our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (226) individuals on board craft-built boats, while (108) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
