General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA, receives in audience the Chief of Staff of Armed Forces of the Republic of Rwanda

      General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army received in audience, this Monday, 12th September 2022, at People's National Army headquarters, the General Jean Bosco KAZURA, Chief of Staff of Armed Forces of the Republic of Rwanda, who carried out a visit to Algeria, at the head of a large military delegation.

      The welcoming ceremony began with the salute of the national emblem, followed by the military salute presented to the Rwandan delegation by military formations, representing the different forces of People's National Army.

  

      The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of Ministry of National Defence, Commanders of Forces and of National Gendarmerie, Chiefs of Departments, Central Directors of Ministry of National Defence and of People's National Army General Staff.

  

      After welcoming the delegation, the General underlined the need for the Armies of the two countries to show real determination, allowing the development of a long-lasting cooperation, based on trust and consideration of common interests:

  

      “I would like to seize the opportunity of your presence among us to salute the efforts of your country which were crowned with a stable and prosperous Rwanda, inspiring several African countries, which aspire to political stability and development.

      For my part, I consider necessary to place our two institutions in a real desire enabling us to develop a lasting cooperation, based on trust, consideration of common interests and exchange strengthening.”

      General expressed full availability for consultation on security matters and expertise exchange, with a view of an active participation in the establishment of peace and stability on the African continent:

  

      “On this occasion, I am pleased to inform you of our full availability in terms of consultation on the various security matters and expertise exchange in the technical field and training.

      This cooperation between our two Armies would also benefit from being included in a military cooperation protocol, to be ratified between our two Armies, whose visit today constitutes a first milestone towards the signing of a military cooperation agreement between our two institutions.

      Before concluding my statement, I assure you of our sincere desire to join our efforts to achieve cooperation that meets the aspirations of our two peoples, insofar as bilateral relations between the two countries are currently marked by excellence, clearly perceptible through a common will to actively contribute to the establishment of peace and stability in our African space.”

      For his part, General Jean Bosco KAZURA hailed Algeria for its pivotal role in maintaining security and stability in the region, by providing aid and multifaceted assistance to neighbouring countries and by accompanying them towards a normalization of their security situation.

      At the end of the meeting, the two parties exchanged symbolic gifts, before the Chief of Staff of Armed Forces of the Republic of Rwanda signed the guest book of People’s National Army General Staff.
