Operational report of PNA from 31st August to 06th September 2022
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 31st August to 06th September 2022, several operations which led to high quality results that reflect the professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (04) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory, while another detachment of PNA discovered and destroyed six (06) homemade bombs during a search operation in Jijel.
Within the framework of fight against organized crime and within continuity with intense efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested, in coordination with various security services during numerous operations carried out through the Military Regions, (36) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce large quantities of drugs from the borders with Morocco, amounting to (05) quintals and (8.5) kilograms of treated kif, while (01) kilogram of cocaine and (341,337) psychotropic tablets were also seized.
In addition, detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, In Salah, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf, (84) individuals and seized (27) vehicles, (114) generators, (80) jackhammers, (01) metal detector, as well as detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (04) other individuals were arrested and (09) hunting rifles, (388) bullets, as well as (57,070) packets of tobacco were seized in Ouled Djellal, Ouargla, El-Oued, Touggourt, Adrar, Khenchela, Setif, and El Bayadh. In the same context, Border Guards thwarted, in coordination with National Gendarmerie services, smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting to (125,073) litres in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tamanrasset, Tebessa, El- Tarf and Souk Ahras.
In addition, Coast Guard thwarted, in our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and carried out the rescue of (74) individuals aboard artisanal boats, while (49) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
