Operational report of PNA from 14th to 20th September 2022
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 14th to 20th September 2022, several operations having led to high quality results which reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (10) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory while another detachment of PNA discovered and destroyed six (02) homemade bombs during a search operation in Bouira.
Within the framework of fight against organized crime and within continuity with intense efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested, in coordination with various security services during numerous operations carried out through the Military Regions, (57) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce large quantities of drugs from the borders with Morocco, amounting to (07) quintals and (68) kilograms of treated kif while (236,998) psychotropic tablets were also seized.
In addition, detachments of People’s National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam and Djanet, (193) individuals and seized (17) vehicles, (227) generators, (116) jackhammers, (06) metal detectors, (36) tons of mixtures of raw gold and stone, as well as detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations, while (17) other individuals were arrested and (10) hunting rifles, quantities of food for smuggling amounting to (58) tons, as well as (167) quintals of tobacco and (12,130) units of pyrotechnic articles were seized in Naama, Mascara, Adrar, Biskra, El-Oued, Setif, Mila and In Amenas.
In the same context, Border Guards have prevented, in coordination with National Gendarmerie services, attempts to smuggle large quantities of fuel amounting to (30,514) litres in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tamanrasset, Tebessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras, while (115) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
