Second day of the official visit of General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA, to the Russian Federation
On the second day of his visit to the Russian Federation, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army was received today, 1st August 2023 at the Ministry of Russian Defence headquarters by General CHOIGOU Serguei, Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation. An extended meeting took place between the delegations of the two countries which examined the possibilities to strengthen cooperation between the armies of the two countries and the horizons of its consolidation.
During this meeting, the General expressed his thanks for the warm welcome reserved for him and made a point of conveying the greetings of Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence to his Russian counterpart Mr. Vladimir PUTIN:
«Allow me to express to you, first of all, my heartfelt thanks and my deep gratitude for the warm welcome that has been given to us since our arrival in Russia.
As I bring a message of friendship from Mr. Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence to his counterpart President Vladimir PUTIN as well as to the friendly Russian people and their armed forces, while emphasizing the importance of this visit which will contribute to strengthening our bilateral cooperation».
Subsequently, the General visited the monumental tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Red Square where he was received by the Military Commander of Moscow city, where he laid a wreath of flowers on the commemorative stele of the Unknown Soldier and observed a minute of silence before listening to the national anthem. Next, he reviewed a detachment of the Honour Guard under the Russian Ministry of Defence which rendered him military honours.
The Chief of Staff of People's National Army then visited Emir Abdelkader Square, which was inaugurated by the President of the Republic during his visit to Russia last June, where he deposited a wreath of flowers on the commemorative stele of the Emir Abdelkader and recited the Fatiha in homage to our Chouhada.
