The President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, chairs the celebration ceremony of the 2nd anniversary of the National Day of PNA
As part of the 2nd anniversary celebration of the National Day of PNA, corresponding to 04th August of each year, Mr. Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, chaired today, 05th August 2023, at the Army’s National Circle in Beni-Messous, a ceremony in honour of PNA retirees, from the NLA, families of martyrs of national duty, as well as gravely injured and wounded in the fight against terrorism, under PNA.
On his arrival, the President of the Republic was welcomed by General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA, where a military formation paid him the honours.
The ceremony was attended by the President of the Council of Nation, the President of the People's National Assembly, the President of the Constitutional Court, the Prime Minister, Advisors to the President of the Republic, members of the Government , the General, Commander of the Republican Guard, the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence, the Commanders of Forces, the Chiefs of Departments, the Directors and Chiefs of Central Services of the Ministry of National Defence and PNA General Staff, senior State officials, national personalities and the Mujahideen.
On this occasion, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA, delivered a speech in which he welcomed President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, expressing his thanks for having kindly presided over this ceremony:
“At first, it is a pleasure for me to present to the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, the most sincere greetings of welcome, and to express to him marks of gratitude for having done us the honour today of presiding over this ceremony to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the National Day of PNA I would also like to welcome the eminent personalities present here”.
The General underlined that the institution by President of the Republic of the National Day of PNA translates the deepest meanings of loyalty and recognition towards the sacrifices of the personnel and the executives of the PNA, worthy heiress of the NLA, since independence until today:
“This date marked a new radiant stage in the history of our dear country, in this case, the reconversion of the National Liberation Army, with all that it embodies as values of sacrifice, courage, fidelity and loyalty, in the People's National Army.
This date is also intended to be an opportunity to pay tribute to the heroes of independent Algeria, among those who gave their lives to preserve the Republic and those who made all the sacrifices so that the country remains standing against the barbaric and obscurantist terrorism.
The establishment of this Day by the President of the Republic translates the deepest meanings of loyalty and gratitude towards the sacrifices made by the personnel and executives of PNA, worthy heir to the NLA, since the independence to date, as well as their active contribution, alongside other state institutions, to the construction and development of the independent and sovereign Algerian state”.
At the end of his speech, the General wanted to convey the congratulations and greetings of the President of the Republic to all the personnel of PNA, deployed throughout the whole country, urging them to make greater efforts in the service of Algeria and its valiant people:
“Finally, allow me to reiterate my thanks to the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, for kindly presiding over this ceremony. Just as I would like to convey the congratulations and greetings of his High Authority, addressed for the occasion, to all the personnel of PNA, deployed throughout the whole country, urging them to make greater efforts in service to Algeria and its valiant people. Likewise, on this occasion, I would like to meditate in memory of the brave Chouhada and the valiant martyrs of national duty, while calling on our children to stick to the principles of our national Revolution which, yesterday, contributed to the liberation of Algeria and are, today, the guarantor of its present and its future. This is a heavy responsibility that it is up to the children of Algeria to carry with sincerity and dedication”.
Subsequently, the President of the Republic honoured PNA retirees from the NLA, families of martyrs of national duty, as well as severely disabled and wounded in the fight against terrorism, under PNA, through the presentation of honorary certificates and recognition.
At the end of the ceremony, the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, took a souvenir photo with the honoured guests.
It should be noted that on the occasion of this National Day of PNA, ceremonies were organized in Military Regions, in honour of the retirees of PNA from the NLA, families of martyrs of national duty, as well as severely disabled and wounded in the fight against terrorism, under the PNA, where the Commanders of the Military Regions gave them honorary and recognition certificates awarded by the President of the Republic.
