Operational report of PNA from the 02nd to the 08th of August 2023
Within the framework of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from the 02nd to the 08th of August 2023, several operations which led to high quality results which reflect the professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, a detachment of PNA discovered and destroyed, during a search and combing operation in Tebessa, (19) casemates for terrorists containing explosives, detonation tools and other effects, while one (01) support element for terrorist group was arrested in a separate operation.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the sustained efforts aiming to counter the drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (51) drug traffickers, recovered one (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, thwarted attempts to introduce (10) quintals and (66) kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, and seized (531435) psychotropic tablets.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam and Djanet, detachments of PNA arrested (96) individuals and seized (21) vehicles, (147) generators, (61) jackhammers, plus quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations, while (08) other individuals were intercepted, and (09) hunting rifles, (02) automatic pistols and quantities of foodstuffs intended for contraband and speculation amounting to (74) tons were seized in separate operations across the national territory. Similarly, the Border Guards foiled, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs services, attempts to smuggle quantities of fuel amounting to (15,363) litters in Tebessa, Souk Ahras, El-Tarf and Bordj Badji Mokhtar.
In addition, the Coast Guards thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (06) individuals aboard craft-built boats, while (184) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
