Operational report of PNA from the 09th to the 15th of August 2023
Within the dynamics of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from the 09th to the 15th of august 2023, several operations which led to high quality results that reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the exploitation of information, detachments of PNA apprehended (03) support elements for terrorist groups during separate operations, while one (01) casemate for terrorists containing two (02) pairs of binoculars and various effects was discovered and destroyed in Tebessa.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the sustained efforts aiming to counter the drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (27) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce (07) quintals and (80) kilograms of processed kif from the borders with Morocco, and seized (1.3) kilogram of cocaine and ( 152131) psychotropic tablets.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam and Illizi, detachments of PNA arrested (75) individuals and seized (07) vehicles, (164) generators, (100) jackhammers, (05) metal detectors, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold minning operations, while (09) other individuals were intercepted, and (03) hunting rifles, quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (4.3) tons, in addition to (6393) units of various drinks and (46.8) quintals of tobacco were seized during separate operations across the national territory. Similarly, the Border Guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs services, foiled attempts to smuggle quantities of fuel amounting to (11,098) litters in Tamanrasset, Souk Ahras and El-Oued.
In addition, the Coast Guard thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (108) individuals aboard craft-built boats, while (370) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
