Operational report of PNA from 16th to 22nd August 2023
Within the dynamics of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 16th to 22nd August 2023, several operations which led to high quality results which reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism and border security, detachment of People's National Army seized during a reconnaissance patrol in Bordj Badji Mokhtar one (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov and (04) magazines, while another detachment of People's National Army seized in In Amenas one (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, (03) magazines and a quantity of ammunition. In the same context, (08) elements supporting terrorist groups were apprehended in various operations across the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and within the continuity with the sustained efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (21) drug traffickers and defeated attempts to introduce (03) quintals and (12) kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, while (45,858) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, In Guezzam, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and In Amenas, PNA detachments arrested (135) individuals and seized (11) vehicles, (107) generators, (64) jackhammers, (04) metal detectors, (11.5) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations, while (11) other individuals were intercepted and (12) hunting rifles, (6753) units of various beverages and (51) quintals of tobacco were seized in separate operations across the national territory. Similarly, the Border Guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs services, thwarted smuggle attempts of quantities of fuel amounting to (17,685) litres in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tebessa, Souk Ahras and El -tarf.
In addition, the Coast Guard thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and carried out the rescue of (242) individuals aboard craft-built boats, while (105) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
