Operational report of PNA from 23rd to 29th August 2023
Within the dynamics of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 23rd to 29th august 2023, several operations which led to high quality results which reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism and during a search and reconnaissance operation in Boumerdes, a detachment of People's National Army discovered and destroyed (01) hideout containing (20) anti-tank grenades and (12) handmade grenades, in addition to a quantity of ammunition, explosives and other items, and arrested (02) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and within the continuity with the intense efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army in coordination with the various security services, intercepted during operations across the Military Regions, (31) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to smuggle (08) quintals and (09) kilograms of treated kif across the borders with Morocco, while (336,075) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, In Guezzam and Bordj Badji Mokhtar, PNA detachments arrested (506) individuals and seized (23) vehicles, (133) generators, (82) jackhammers, (03) metal detectors, (65) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations, while (19) other individuals were intercepted and (16) hunting rifles, (01) Automatic pistol, (2070) cartridges, in addition (3.62) quintals of tobacco and (23.12) tons of foodstuffs destined for smuggling in separate operations across the national territory. Similarly, the Border Guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs services, thwarted attempts to smuggle of quantities of fuel amounting to (61355) litres in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tebessa, Souk Ahras, El -tarf and El Oued.
In addition, the Coast Guard thwarted, along our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and carried out the rescue of (118) individuals aboard craft-built boats, while (119) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
