General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA on a working and inspection visit to Territory Air Defence Forces Command
Within the framework of the inspection visits to the various components of People's National Army, General, Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army carried out, this Thursday, 20th April 2023, a working and inspection visit to the Territory Air Defence Forces Command headquarters.
After the welcoming ceremony, General, accompanied by General-Major Abdelaziz HOUAM, Commander of the Territory Air Defence Forces, observed a minute’s silence in memory of the Chahid "Boudghène BEN ALI" known as " Colonel Lotfi", whose headquarters is named after him, and laid a wreath of flowers in front of his commemorative stele, before reciting the Fatiha in his memory and that of our brave Chouhada.
Then, the General held a meeting with the executives and the personnel of the Territory Air Defence Forces Command, where he delivered an orientation speech, broadcast via videoconference through all the units of this Command. In this regard, the Chief of Staff of PNA stressed that Algeria, which today is leading the fight for change with the combined efforts of its children and its people, finds itself, once again facing sinister attempts to undermine the security and stability of the nation:
"Algeria is leading today, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, the expected fight for change, through the combined efforts of all Algerian women and men, and national wills, for the achievement of the hopes of the Chouhada and to build a strong State through its youth which remains the real wealth of the Nation and its locomotive to achieve the aspirations of people for well-being and progress.
All these efforts and steps made by valiant and dedicated men have no other objective than to strengthen national unity, combat factors of division and defeat the desperate attempts threatening security and stability of the nation, as well as the unity of the Algerian people.
These vain attempts have recently manifested themselves in the return of the activities of certain fundamentalists known for their extremist religious discourse, which recalls the 90s of the last century".
The General stressed that the Algerian state will never allow the return of these adventurers who almost led the country to the precipice and caused the collapse of the national state:
"These extremists must know that their time is over and that the institutions of the State will not allow the return of these adventurers who almost led the country to the precipice and caused the collapse of the National State for which millions Chouhada gave their lives.
They must also know that the Algerian people, who have endured the torments of barbaric terrorism and suffered from the pains of blind cruelty, will never allow them to deceive them again, for they are now aware of their devious operating method, who use the Algerians' attachment to their religion to achieve dubious political objectives, which are undoubtedly part of destructive projects and hostile foreign agendas".
In this wake, the General affirmed that the fight against extremism, in all its forms, must be carried out at all levels, by involving all the actors on the national scene:
"The fight against extremism, in all its forms, must be waged at all levels, involving all actors on the national scene. This effort begins at the elementary cell of society, namely the family, then the school which is called upon to inculcate in the rising generations a good civic education, based on the anchoring of the values of citizenship and the teaching of the duties of the citizen towards his country and his society. A citizen able to adapt and to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century, a citizen proud of his Algerianness.
We are fully aware that these activities, now openly carried out, whereas they were carried out clandestinely and in closed spaces, were initiated at the instigation of hostile subversive circles, which have accustomed us to this kind of manoeuvre every time Algeria regains, in a short time, its pivotal role on the regional and international scenes.
But we will be able, thanks to the conscience and unity of our valiant people and to their adherence to their Army and their institutions, to defeat these subversive designs and to move forward to consolidate the place of our country in the concert of nations. ".
At the end, the General followed an exhaustive presentation presented by the Commander of the Territory Air Defence Forces, relating to the various fields of activities relating to the state of progress of the development plan of these Forces. In this regard, he valued the level of operational readiness and professionalism achieved by the Territory Air Defence Forces in securing our airspace. He also stressed the imperative to constantly ensuring combat readiness and dedicated work which will always be a solid vector enabling all Territory Air Defence Forces to carry out their missions with professionalism especially during the execution of various exercises.
