Operational report of PNA from 29th March to 04th April 2023
Within the dynamics of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 29th March to 04th April 2023, several operations which led to high quality results which reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested (14) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory, while a (01) submachine gun type FMPK was seized further to a search operation in Tamanrasset.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the sustained efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of PNA arrested, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (44) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce large quantities of drugs from the borders with Morocco, amounting to (04) quintals and (60) kilograms of treated kif, and seized (28,907) psychotropic tablets.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Tindouf and Djanet, PNA detachments intercepted (174) individuals and seized (22) vehicles, (147) generators, (45) jackhammers, one (01) metal detector, (66) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (08) other individuals were arrested, and (10) hunting rifles and one (01) automatic pistol, quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (66) tons and (3000) units of different pyrotechnic items were seized in separate operations across the national territory.
In addition, the Border Guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs services, the border guards foiled attempts to smuggle large quantities of fuel amounting to (17,146) litres at Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Souk Ahras, El- Tarf and Tebessa, while (227) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
