Operational report of PNA from 05th to 11th April 2023
Within the dynamics of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 5th to 11th April 2023, several operations which led to high quality results that reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism and of national borders securing, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested (08) support elements for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and within the continuity with the sustained efforts aiming to countering the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of PNA arrested, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (21) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce large quantities of drugs from the borders with Morocco, amounting to (04) quintals and (62) kilograms of treated kif, and seized (101107) psychotropic tablets.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and Tindouf, PNA detachments intercepted (216) individuals and seized (18) vehicles, (102) generators and (36) jackhammers, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (31) other individuals were arrested, and (02) hunting rifles, quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation rising to (37) tons and (13.6) quintals of tobacco were seized during separate operations across the national territory. Similarly, the Border Guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs services, thwarted smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting to (16,514) litres in Souk Ahras, El-Tarf, Tebessa, Tamanrasset and Bordj Badji Mokhtar.
On the other hand, the Coast Guards thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (159) individuals on board homemade boats, while (456) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested throughout the national territory.
