Operational report of PNA from 19th to 25th April 2023
Within the dynamics of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 19th to 25th April 2023, several operations which led to high quality results that reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism and securing of national borders, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested (01) support elements for terrorist groups in Biskra.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and within the continuity with the sustained efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (20) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce large quantities of drugs from the borders with Morocco, amounting to (04) quintals of treated kif, and seized (5246) psychotropic tablets.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam and Tindouf, detachments of PNA arrested (129) individuals and seized (17) vehicles, (35) generators and (50) jackhammers and (05) metal detectors, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold manning operations, while (09) other individuals were arrested, one (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, two (02) hunting rifles, (4.5) quintals of tobacco, as well as huge quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (89) tons were seized in separate operations across the national territory.In addition, the Border Guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs services, thwarted smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting to (15899) litres in In Guezzam,El Oued, Tebessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras.
alternatively, the Coast Guard thwarted, in our national coasts, attempts at illegal emigration and carried out the rescue of (189) individuals aboard craft-built boats, while (203) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested throughout the national territory.
