Commemoration of the 63rd anniversary of the 11th December 1960 demonstrations at the Central Army’s Museum
Within the framework of its efforts to preserve national history and memory by commemorating various national holidays, events and historical milestones such as the demonstrations of 11th December 1960, the Central Army’s Museum organised historical activities on Monday, 11th December 2023, to mark this anniversary under the slogan "The demonstrations of 11th December 1960 ... epic of a people who wanted to live".
During this commemorative event, a historical symposium was organised, at the start of which a documentary film entitled “The Liberation Revolution... the strategy of victory” was shown. Various speeches and a vivid testimony from a Moudjahid who lived through the event were also presented, before the inauguration of an exhibition of historical photographs perpetuating this important historical stage in our Glorious Revolution of National Liberation.
This celebration was also marked by the presence of Mrs ZOUBIRI Khaira, widow of the defunct Moudjahid, Colonel Youssef AL-KHATIB, where photographs of the historic Wilaya IV and weapons belonging to the defunct Moudjahid, Colonel Youssef AL-KHATIB, were exhibited. These items were handed over to the Ministry of National Defence by the widow of the deceased, in accordance with the personal wishes he expressed during his lifetime, in order that they might be used for military purposes.
At the end of this event, and on behalf of General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff, the widow of the deceased was honoured as a sign of consideration for this honourable initiative, which is capable of preserving the national memory and passing on to succeeding generations its authentic values of heroism, abnegation and sacrifice to the homeland, but also as a tribute to this historic national figure and his distinguished place in our Glorious Liberation Revolution.
