Operational report of PNA from 06th to 12th December 2023
Within the framework of their sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and multi-faceted organised crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out a number of operations between 06th and 12th December 2023, producing high-quality results that reflect the high level of professionalism, vigilance and permanent readiness of our Armed Forces throughout the country:
As part of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the efforts of units of People's National Army, a terrorist surrendered to the military authorities in In Guezzam in the 6th Military Region, in possession of one (01) Kalashnikov machine pistol and a quantity of ammunition, while detachments of People's National Army arrested (12) elements supporting terrorist groups, during separate operations throughout the country.
As part of the fight against organised crime, and in continuation of the sustained efforts to thwart the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined PNA detachments intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out across the Military Regions, (47) drug traffickers, and thwarted attempts to smuggle (10) quintals and (38) kilograms of kif from the borders with Morocco, while (68213) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and In Guezzam, PNA detachments arrested (126) individuals and seized(21) vehicles,(70) generators,(33) Jackhammers,(770)quintals of mixed stones and raw gold, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations. (40) Other individuals were intercepted and (09) hunting rifles, (04) automatic pistols, (60737) litres of fuel, (305) tonnes of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation, (14) quintals of tobacco and (11676) units of various beverages were seized during separate operations throughout the country.
In addition, the coastguards thwarted clandestine emigration attempts along the national coastline and rescued (149) individuals aboard artisanal boats, while (124) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested throughout the national territory.
