Operational Report of PNA from 20th to 26th December, 2023
Within the framework of their sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and multi-faceted organised crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out several operations during the period from 20th to 26th December 2023. These operations produced high-quality results that reflect the high level of professionalism, vigilance and permanent readiness of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of the fight against terrorism, a detachment of People's National Army arrested two (02) terrorists in Bordj Badji Mokhtar in the 6th Military Region, who were active in terrorist groups abroad. The two arrested were M. Salek, known as Mouloud, and N. Sid Ali, known as Moad. Sid Ali" known as "Moad".In the same context, during a search operation in Bouira, a PNA detachment discovered (08) terrorist casemates containing explosive substances, while one (01) terrorist group support element was arrested in Mostaganem.
Within the framework of the fight against organised crime and in continuation of sustained efforts to thwart the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined PNA detachments have intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out across the Military Regions, (26) drug traffickers, and thwarted attempts to smuggle (07) quintals and (22) kilograms of kif from the borders with Morocco, while (65005) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Illizi and Djanet, PNA detachments arrested (172) individuals and seized (18) vehicles, (109) generators, (105)Jackhammers, (05) metal detectors, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations. Similarly, (16) other individuals were intercepted and one (01) FMPK machine gun, one (01) semi-automatic rifle, (19) hunting rifles, (7,466) litres of fuel, (71) quintals of tobacco and (2,482) units of various beverages were seized during separate operations across the country.
In addition, the coastguards thwarted clandestine emigration attempts along the national coastline and rescued (267) individuals on board artisanal boats, while (150) clandestine immigrants of various nationalities were arrested throughout the country.
