Operational report of PNA from 25th to 31st January 2023
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out during the period from 25th to 31st January 2023, several operations which led to high quality results reflecting professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our armed forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of fight against terrorism and borders security, combined detachment of PNA arrested 22 support elements for terrorist groups in different operations throughout the national territory, while one (01) submachine gun FMPK, one (01) sniper rifle Dragunov, (02) submachine guns type Kalashnikov, one (01) semi-automatic pistol type Simonov, one (01) submachine guns Mat-49 and a quantity of ammunitions were seized during different operations of high quality.
Within the framework of fight against organized crime and in continuity of sustained efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People’s National Army arrested, in coordination with various security services during operations carried out through the military regions, (81) drug traffickers and foiled attempts to introduce huge quantities of drugs from the borders with Morocco, amounting to (05) quintals and (95.5) kilograms of treated kif, while (05) kilograms of cocaine and (187,966) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, PNA detachments intercepted (147) individuals and seized (52) vehicles, (351) generators, (134) jackhammers, (02) metal detectors, as well as a large quantity of explosives and detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (07) other individuals were arrested and huge quantities of foodstuff intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (105.10) tons, as well as (113.55) quintals of tobacco and (51,528) units of different drinks were seized during different operations throughout a national territory.
In addition, Coast Guard thwarted, in coordination with National Gendarmerie services, smuggling attempts of great quantity of fuel amounting to (10,672) litres in Souk Ahras, El-Tarf, Tebessa, Tamanrasset, while (179) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
