Operational report of PNA from 1st to 7th February 2023
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out during the period from 01st to 07th February 2023, several operations which led to high quality results reflecting professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of fight against terrorism and borders security, combined detachment of PNA arrested 02 support elements for terrorist groups in different operations throughout the national territory, while one (01) casemate for terrorist groups and (04) handmade bombs were discovered and destroyed during raking and search operations in Djelfa.
Within the framework of fight against organized crime and in continuity of sustained efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People’s National Army arrested, in coordination with various security services during operations carried out through the military regions, (108) drug traffickers and foiled attempts to introduce huge quantities of drugs from the borders with Morocco, amounting to (03) quintals and (24) kilograms of treated kif, while (712,624) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, and Tindouf PNA detachments intercepted (1,937) individuals and seized (42) vehicles, (179) generators, (86) jackhammers, (05) metal detectors, as well as a large quantity of explosives and detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (29) other individuals were arrested and (08) hunting rifles, great quantity of cartridges for hunting rifles and huge quantities of foodstuff intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (210) tons, (10) tons of cooper wastes as well as (26.5) quintals of tobacco were seized during different operations throughout the national territory. Moreover, Border Guards foiled in coordination with National Gendarmerie services, smuggle attempts of an important quantity of fuel amounting to (77,620) litres in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Souk Ahras, El-Tarf et Tebessa.
In addition, Coast Guard thwarted, in our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (44) individuals on board artisanal boat, while (161) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested throughout the national territory.
