Operational report of PNA from 15th to 21st February 2023
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out during the period from 15th to 21st February 2023, several operations which led to high quality results reflecting professionalism, vigilance and the permanent availability of our armed forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of fight against terrorism, combined detachments of People’s National Army arrested (08) support elements for terrorist groups in separate operation across the national territory, while one (01) homemade bombs were discovered and destroyed following a search and combing operation in Boumerdes.
Within the framework of fight against organized crime and in continuity with sustained efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People’s National Army arrested, in coordination with various security services during operations carried out through the military regions, (81) drug traffickers and foiled attempts to introduce huge quantities of drugs from the borders with Morocco, amounting to (07) quintals and (41) kilograms of treated kif, while (299072) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tindouf and Djanet, People’s National Army detachments intercepted (210) individuals and seized (42) vehicles (315) generators , (50) jackhammers, (15,5) tons of raw gold and stones mixture as well as a large quantity of explosives, , used in illegal gold panning operations , while (42) other individuals were arrested (01) semi automatic rifles, (12) hunting rifles (02) , (06) automatic pistols (44) quintals of tobacco, (16371)units of different drinks and large quantities of foodstuff intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (79) tones were seized during different operations throughout the national territory. Moreover, Borders Guards thwarted, in coordination with National Gendarmerie services, smuggle attempts of huge quantities of fuel amounting to (44455) litres in, Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar ,Souk Ahras, El-Tarf and Tebessa.
In addition, Coast Guard thwarted, in our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (97) individuals on board handcraft boats, while (658) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
