In accordance with the statutory provisions of the National Council of Geographical Information, determining its composition, its missions, its organization and its functioning, Major General HASNAT Belkacem, Chief of Employment-Preparation Department of People’s National Army General Staff, as a president of the said council, proceeded today, Sunday, 29 January 2023, at the Army’s Garrison Circle in Aïn Naadja in the 1st Military Region, to the official installation of its members.


      During this extraordinary session which assembled the national actors working in the field of geographic information, and to allow the authority to fully ensure its missions, the regulatory framework was studied, as well as the aspects related to the national policy related to geographical information. The session is also considered as a translation of the recommendations and the regulations delivered by the experts'committee of the United Nation on the integrated geospatial information management (UN- GGIM).


      The establishment of such mechanism in all its aspects would create an environmental space with the same characteristics as national structure for geospatial data.
