Operational report of PNA from 01st to 10th January 2023
Within the dynamic of the sustained efforts in fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out, during the period from 1st to 10th January 2023, several operations which led to high quality results reflecting professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our armed forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of fight against terrorism, combined detachments of People’s National Army arrested (13) support elements for terrorist groups in separate operation across the national territory, while one (01) casemate and (10) handmade bombs were discovered and destroyed by other People’s National Army detachments in Djelfa, Setif, Boumerdes and Tipaza.
Within the framework of fight against organized crime and in continuity with sustained efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People’s National Army, in coordination with various security services during operations carried out through the military regions, (124) drug traffickers and foiled attempts to introduce huge quantities of drugs from the borders with Morocco, amounting to (12) quintals and (65) kilograms of treated kif, while (1.5) kilograms of cocaine and (483,485) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf, People’s National Army detachments intercepted (131) individuals and seized (58) vehicles, (319) generators, (177) jackhammers, (06) metal detectors, (02) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, as well as a large quantity of explosives, used in illegal gold panning operations, while (43) other individuals were arrested and (02) automatic pistol, (25) hunting rifles, (1,000) cartridges, quantities of foodstuff intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (141) tons, as well as (82) tons of tobacco and (10,256) units of various alcoholic beverages were seized in separate operations across the national territory. Moreover, Borders Guards thwarted, in coordination with National Gendarmerie services, smuggle attempts of huge quantities of fuel amounting to (241,781) litres in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Souk Ahras, El-Tarf and Adrar.
In addition, Coast Guard thwarted, in our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (422) individuals on board handcraft boats, while (276) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
