Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out during the period from 18th to 24th January 2023, several operations which led to high quality results reflecting professionalism, vigilance and the permanent availability of our armed forces throughout the national territory:

      Within the framework of fight against terrorism, combined detachments of People’s National Army arrested (11) support elements for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory.

      Within the framework of fight against organized crime and in continuity of sustained efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People’s National Army arrested, in coordination with various security services during operations carried out through the military regions, (48) drug traffickers and foiled attempts to introduce huge quantities of drugs from the borders with Morocco, amounting to (08) quintals and (33) kilograms of treated kif, while (350) grams of cocaine and (716,914) psychotropic tablets were seized.


      In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf, People’s National Army detachments intercepted (184) individuals and seized (20) vehicles, (150) generators, (78) jackhammers, (05) metal detectors, (10) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, as well as a large quantity of explosives used in illegal gold panning operations, while (15) other individuals were arrested and (06) hunting rifles, and quantities of foodstuff intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (166.35) tones as well as (18.15) quintals of tobacco and (17,377) units of different drinks were seized during different operations throughout a national territory.



      In addition, Coast Guard thwarted, in coordination with National Gendarmerie services, smuggling attempts of great quantity of fuel amounting to (35,156) litres in Souk Ahras, El-Tarf, Tebessa, Tamenresset and Djanet, while (235) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
