Second day of the working visit of General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA, to the 2nd Military Region
On the second day of his visit to the 2nd Military Region, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, supervised a tactical-naval exercise at the level of the Western Maritime Facade.
Welcomed at the Main Naval Base of Mers El-Kébir, by Major-General Mahfoud BEN MEDAH, Commander of the Naval Forces, the General reviewed a formation of floating naval units who presented him with honours, before following, at the level of the meeting room, two presentations on the stages of execution of the exercise which crowns the 2022-2023 combat readiness program, presented respectively by the Commander of the Naval Forces and the Commander of the Western Maritime Facade.
Then, and on board the "Kalâat Beni Abbès" Command and Force Projection Building, the General and the delegation accompanying him, followed the steps of the exercise relating, among other things, to the firing of an anti-surface missile, an assault and interception operation of a suspicious ship using combat helicopters and fast assault corvettes and an intervention to secure a coastal energy installation to overcome a terrorist group.
The execution of this combined exercise which aims to assess the operational effectiveness of the weapons systems of the participating buildings, was a great success in terms of the destruction of surface targets with high precision, in addition to other combat actions, in this case the interception of a suspicious ship and the securing of a coastal energy installation, constituting another success symbolizes the fruit of the good mastery, by the crews, of the various weapons and equipment, confirms the development and operational availability achieved by the units of the Algerian Naval Forces, for the past few years.
At the Main Naval Base of Mers El-Kébir, the General met the executives and personnel of the Western Maritime Facade, where he delivered an orientation speech through which he congratulated the executives and personnel of the units that took part in this tactical-naval exercise, while emphasizing the interest that the High Command of People's National Army gives to founding professionalism around human resources which must be perfectly in tune with the pre -Requirements and requirements of professional work.
At the end, the General followed the interventions of the executives and staff of the West Maritime Facade who expressed their full willingness to meet all the operational challenges at the level of the sector of competence.
