President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence presides over the graduation Ceremony of promotions at the Military Academy of Cherchell "late President Houari Boumediene"
Crowning the annual graduation ceremonies at People's National Army training establishments, Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence presided over, this Sunday, 09th July 2023, at the Military Academy of Cherchell "the late President Houari Boumediene", the annual graduation ceremony of the 54th promotion of fundamental training, the 16th promotion of common basic military training and the 7th promotion of Master cycle officers.
The President of the Republic was welcomed, at the principal entrance of the Academy, by General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, accompanied by Major General Ali SIDANE, Commander of the 1st Military Region and Major General Salmi BACHA, Commander of the Military Academy of Cherchell, where a military formation presented him with military honours.
At the entrance to the Academy, the President of the Republic observed a minute’s silence in homage to the late President "Houari Boumediene" whose name is carried by the Military Academy of Cherchell, then, he laid a wreath of flowers on the commemorative stele and recite the Fatiha on his pure soul, before following a presentation on the Academy, the training course provided and the graduated promotions.
Afterward, The delegation went to the Place d'Armes, where the President of the Republic presided over the graduation ceremony for new promotions of the 2022-2023 school year, then, he reviewed the squares of the military formations aligned at the level of the place d'Armes, subsequently, the General, Chief of Staff of PNA, delivered a speech through which he thanked the President of the Republic for having supervised the graduation ceremony of the Military Academy of Cherchell, coinciding with the festivities commemorating the 61st anniversary of Independence and the recovery of national sovereignty. This pole considered as the backbone of People's National Army training system which consolidates the ranks of our Armed Forces into qualified, competent officers imbued with the principles and values of our Glorious National Liberation Revolution. General highlighted, at the same time, the achievements and successes that our country has experienced on the national and international levels, with a view to boosting the national development project which will strengthen the autonomy of our country in terms of the economy, technology and knowledge, as well as to pursue the development and promotion of military industries capable of boosting the industrial fabric, taking charge of the needs of the national market and contributing to the development of the national economy.
For his part, the Commander of the Military Academy of Cherchell, underlined that the Academy knows today, the graduation of a new elite of People's National Army executives who have benefited from a scientific military training of quality, shaped by exemplary military conduct and imbued with patriotism, strong determination and abnegation in the service of the Nation. A training that will allow them, through the exercise of their missions, to face the challenges imposed by the evolution experienced by the military, scientific and technological fields.
After the taking of the oath by the graduating promotions, the President of the Republic proceeded to the presentation of the ranks and diplomas to the first laureates of the promotions, by presenting the diploma to the major of promotion of the Master cycle, then the rank of Second Lieutenant and the sword of the Academy to the promotion major of Fundamental Training, before inviting the accompanying delegation to present the diplomas and grades to the other laureates. The After that, the President of the Republic presented the diploma to the Major of the promotion of Common Basic Military Training.
The ceremony continued with the handing over of the standard of the Academy by the graduating promotion of active officers to the promotion which succeeds it, before the major of the 54th promotion of Fundamental Training submitted to the approval of the President of the Republic the baptism of the promotion in the name of the late Moudjahid "Colonel Mohamed Essalah YAHYAOUI". A brief biography of the deceased was presented.
Then, The formation squares took position at the starting point of the parade, giving way to combat sports exhibitions such as Karate, Kung-fu, Taekwondo as well as group sports movements with and without weapons, bodybuilding exercises and truck jumping and obstacles on fire, before reconstituting figures with the national colours, followed by a demonstrative combat exercise relating to the search for and neutralization of an terrorist group enemy executed by a combined detachment.
The graduation ceremony saw the participation of the Air Forces through the execution of aerial maneuvrs performed by different squadrons of combat aircraft and the execution of a refueling exercise of fighter aircraft in flight. The President of the Republic subsequently followed the live broadcast on a giant screen of a demonstration exercise carried out by our Naval Forces, entitled: "Demonstrative tactical exercise simulating an intervention operation aimed at securing a coastal industrial infrastructure".
The ceremony concluded by a military parade performed on the sound of military music interpreted by a troop of the Republican Guard, in a parade where the National Flag Guard was at the head of the military formations, followed by the squares of student-officers of the Fundamental and Common Basic Military Training, simultaneously with a parachute jump exhibition.
Thereafter, the President of the Republic visited the Academy Museum where he reviewed its various pavilions and received extensive explanations on the prestigious history of the Academy. At the end, the President of the Republic honoured the family of the late Moudjahid "Colonel Mohamed Essalah YAHYAOUI", before signing the Golden Book of the Academy.
