General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA presides over the graduation ceremony of the 16th promotion of the War High College
General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army presided, this Sunday morning 2nd July 2023, at the War High College, the graduation ceremony of the 16th promotion of the Higher War Studies Courses, named after the Chahid "Hamdaoui Hamidou". Upon his arrival, the General was welcomed by Major General Ali SIDANE, Commander of the 1st Military Region and Major General Hamid FEKANE, Director of the School.
After the welcoming ceremony, the General held a meeting with the executives and the trainee’ officers where he followed a presentation on the graduated promotion, before delivering an orientation speech in which he, first of all, expressed his most sincere congratulations to the military personnel and to all the Algerian people on the occasion of the celebration of Eid El-Adha and the national independence day. Subsequently, he highlighted the attention given by the High Command of PNA to the field of training, in all its levels and specializations, citing in particular the War High College:
"On this occasion, I would like to express to you and to all the Algerian people, my most sincere congratulations on the occasion of Eid El-Adha El-Mubarak. Likewise, on the eve of the celebration of the 61st anniversary of Independence Day and the recovery of the national sovereignty of our country, I am pleased to express to you and to all the personnel of PNA my best wishes, praying to ALLAH the Almighty, to perpetuate the benefits of security, stability and progress on our country and to confer on our People's National Army, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, the means of strengthening its power and its operational availability, enabling it to fully accomplish its constitutional missions, in particular the defence of the country and its citizens security.
We are convinced that this availability is based essentially and above all on the human factor, imbued with national and republican values, highly qualified, through the scientific and military teachings received, and aware of the challenge represented by the quality of work, to meet the challenges that arise with the necessary efficiency and professionalism.
This conviction is so deeply rooted in us that we have always taken care to grant the field of training, in all its levels and specialties, in particular at the War High College, all the interest and the necessary means, taking into account the nature of teaching and training missions outsourced, but also our approach in this area, aiming to give this higher scientific establishment its deserved dimension, which corresponds to the image of PNA and to the privileged place that belongs to Algeria, both regionally and internationally".
The General stressed that the quality issue, with all the meanings of this concept, has become an imperative to follow the rapid developments in military sciences and strategic studies:
" the War High College is a centre of high-level training and education, which allows our Armed Forces to equip themselves with highly qualified military elites, able to respond to the ambitions of our army and to assume the assigned noble missions, especially since today we are witnessing a world that is experiencing accelerated changes, challenges as new as they are complex, and hybrid threats that jeopardize the security and political stability of States, social cohesion and all-out development.
Among the major objectives set out for our military training system is the issue of quality, with all that this concept entails. Indeed, this becomes a requirement for professionalization and an imperative to get in step with the rapid developments in military sciences and strategic studies and to guarantee the preparation of our military elites".
For his part, the Director of the War High College, Major General Hamid FEKANE, recalled the extreme interest that the High Command of People's National Army gives to the training system in general, and to the War High College more particularly.
Subsequently, an audiovisual presentation was projected, relating to the results of the School's activities for the 2022-2023 school years, followed by the announcement of the results, the awarding of diplomas and the baptism of the graduated promotion after the name of the Chahid "Hamdaoui Hamidou". Before the end of the ceremony, a speech was addressed by the representative of the graduated class.
Then, the General went to the teaching division, where he followed presentations on study thesis, presented by student’s officers from the various forces.
At the end, the General honoured the family’s members of the Chahid whose graduated class was named after him, before signing the school's guestbook.
