Operational report of PNA from 05th to 11th July 2023
Within the framework of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 05th to 11th July 2023, several operations which led to high quality results that reflect the professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the intelligence exploitation, the security services of the Ministry of National Defence in Tamanrasset in the 6th MR captured the terrorist called "LANSARI Souleymane", who had joined, in 2014, terrorist groups activating in the Sahel region.
In the same context, a detachment of People's National Army seized one (01) submachine gun FMPK, one (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov and a quantity of ammunition during a reconnaissance patrol in Adrar, while two (02) support elements for terrorist groups were apprehended in two separate operations.
within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the sustained efforts aimed to counter the drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (56) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce (08) quintals and (49) kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, and seized (159,935) psychotropic tablets.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and In Amenas, PNA detachments arrested (142) individuals and seized (17) vehicles, (138) generators, (67)jackhammers , (02) metal detectors, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold manning operations, while (34) other individuals were intercepted, and (05) hunting rifles, quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (68) tons, in addition to (38,597) units of various beverages and (85) quintals of tobacco were seized during separate operations across the national territory. Similarly, the Border Guards thwarted, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs services, attempts to smuggle quantities of fuel amounting to (16,258) litters in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tébessa, Souk Ahras and El-Tarf.
In addition, the Coast Guard thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (221) individuals aboard craft-built boats, while (376) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
