Operational report of PNA from 12th to 18th July 2023
Within the framework of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 12th to 18th July 2023, several operations which led to high quality results that reflect the professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the exploitation of intelligence, detachments of the People's National Army apprehended (03) support elements for terrorist groups during separate operations.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the sustained efforts aiming to counter the drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (58) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce (02) quintals and (98) kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, and seized (274,192) psychotropic tablets.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and Djanet, detachments of PNA arrested (315) individuals and seized (21) vehicles, (252) generators, (99) Jackhammers, (02) metal detectors, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold manning operations, while (04) other individuals were intercepted, and (04) hunting rifles, quantities of foodstuffs intended for the contraband and speculation amounting to (66) tons were seized in separate operations across the national territory. Similarly, the Border Guards thwarted, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs services, smuggle attempts quantities of fuel amounting to (17,187) litters in Tamanrasset, Tébessa, Souk Ahras and El-Tarf.
In addition, the Coast Guard thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded the rescue of (47) individuals aboard craft-built boats, while (346) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested throughout the national territory.
