Operational report of PNA from 19th to 25th July 2023
within the dynamics of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 19th to 25th July 2023, several operations which led to high quality results that reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the exploitation of information, detachments of People's National Army apprehended (02) support elements for terrorist groups during separate operations, while one (01) handmade bomb was discovered and destroyed in Blida.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the sustained efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (30) drug traffickers and defeated attempts to introduce (05) quintals and (82) kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, and seized (02) kilograms of cocaine and (127,032 ) psychotropic tablets.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam and Illizi, PNA detachments arrested (172) individuals and seized (13) vehicles, (160) generators, (90) jackhammers, (03) metal detectors, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (07) other individuals were intercepted, and (08) hunting rifles, quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (20) tons, besides (1531) units of various beverages were seized in separate operations across the national territory. Similarly, the Border Guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs services, thwarted attempts to smuggle quantities of fuel amounting to (18,042) litres in Tamanrasset, Adrar, Tebessa, Souk Ahras and El -tarf.
In addition, the Coast Guard thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and carried out the rescue of (60) individuals aboard craft-built boats, while (235) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
