President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence oversees the execution of a tactical exercise with live ammunition "Fadjr-2023"

      The President of the Republic Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence supervised, today, Sunday 25th June 2023, the execution of a tactical exercise with live ammunition, entitled "Fadjr-2023”, which was executed by the 12th Mechanized Infantry Division in Djelfa, supported by units of the various Forces and arms, as part of the closing of the Forces preparation program for the year 2022-2023.

  

      The President of the Republic was welcomed at the shooting and manoeuvres polygon by General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, where military formation from the various Forces paid him the honours.

  

      The exercise was attended by civilian and military senior officials of the State.

  

  

      At the shooting and manoeuvres polygon, the President of the Republic followed, in the company of the General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA, the progress of the combat actions which were executed with high professionalism, reflecting the great synergy and perfect coordination between the units and the subunits, the mastery of the weapon systems by the crews, as well as the ability to accomplish the assigned missions in all circumstances, which confirms the development and operational readiness achieved by our Armed Forces in recent years.


  

      At the end of the exercise, the President of the Republic held a meeting with the personnel of the participating units, during which he delivered a speech, which was followed via videoconference by all the personnel of PNA across the six Military Regions. At the end of the speech, The President congratulated the participating personnel for the great efforts made during the various phases of preparation and execution of this tactical exercise, stressing that Algeria is committed to continue the process of development and modernization of its defence apparatus, at all levels, in the service of national defence:


      «General, Chief of Staff of People's National Army,
      Major Generals and Brigadier Generals;
      Officers, NCOs and men of ranks;
      I am glade on this occasion, as we are a few days away from the commemoration of the 61st anniversary of National Independence Day, and following the images of glory and pride that we have just witnessed, materialized by our combat units with a high degree of professionalism which was reflected in the execution of this tactical exercise with live ammunition, to stand still, with the pride of men faithful to the oath of the Chouhada, before the honourable achievements of our authentic military institution which come to consolidate the confidence of Algerian people in its prestigious army.
      It pleases me in these moments full of marks of patriotism, and while I personally wanted to attend this tactical exercise, to express my deep satisfaction and my great pride, and to present my congratulations to our valiant People’s National Army, to its command, its officers, its non-commissioned officers and its man of ranks for their permanent efforts to build our national defence and security potential with unwavering self-sacrifice and loyalty.
      Also, and in view of the particular geopolitical contexts prevailing in the global and regional scale, I would like to reaffirm our unchanging commitment to continue the process of development and modernization of our defence capabilities, both in terms of equipment in defence systems weapons, armaments and sophisticated systems, and also in terms of preparing and training of our personnel,to ensure their proficiency in employing these systems in the service of our national defence and our vital interests".


      The President of the Republic stressed that Algeria's doctrine was and will remain defensive and that the Algerian State always ensures respect for the sovereignty of States and that never in its history has been a source of threat or aggression against anyone:

      "Honourable assistance, Algeria was and will remain a bastion of peace and security and never in its history has constituted a source of threat or aggression against anyone. The principles of good neighbourliness and peace building, as well as the commitment to common security are an integral part of our political and military history. The fact remains that today, the acquisition of power factors and their mastery are among our priorities in order to safeguard our national sovereignty, in particular in front of security destabilization attempts carried out in our neighbourhood, fuelled by conflicting foreigners agendas who work to appropriate resources, particularly energy resources, to the detriment of the security of peoples of our region. This state of affairs calls on People's National Army to be in tune with security and military developments and to ensure optimal use of human and material resources deployed exclusively within the framework of overall security of our national borders, the protection of strategic sites, and to fight against illegal immigration, Arms and drug trafficking ".

      The President of the Republic also affirmed that the scientifically and the technically qualified human component is an essential factor in winning the challenge of permanent operational readiness and high combat aptitude:

      "Honourable assistance, Achieving these objectives undoubtedly requires synergy and perfect operational coordination between the various components of People's National Army, allowing it to adapt quickly to the current situation, relying on a human component that is scientifically and technically qualified, mastering modern equipment, and determined to win the challenge of permanent operational readiness and high combat aptitude.
      I would not fail on this occasion to congratulate all those who contributed to the planning, preparation and execution of this tactical exercise with the precision and required professionalism, which denote the level of development, disposition and interoperability achieved by our Armed Forces during the execution of this type of tactical exercise, and to wish all officers, non-commissioned officers and men of ranks achievement and success in the accomplishment of their noble national missions. Long live Algeria. Glory to our valiant Chouhada".

      At the end, the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, reviewed, with the General, Chief of Staff of PNA, the formations and units engaged in the exercise, which returned the salute.
