Operational report of PNA from 14th to 20th June 2023
Within the framework of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from June 14th to 20th 2023, several operations which led to high quality results that reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism and securing of borders, detachments of People's National Army arrested (42) support elements for terrorist groups in different operations, while another detachment seized, in In Amenas, (04) submachine guns type Kalashnikov, (04) Grenades and a quantity of ammunition.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and within the continuity with the sustained efforts aimed to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of the PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (43) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce (21) quintals and (56.15) kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, and seized (1560) grams of cocaine and (59476) psychotropic tablets.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam and Djanet, detachments of PNA arrested (181) individuals and seized (13) vehicles, (113) generators, (57) Jackhammers, (03) metal detectors, (116.5) quintals of mixed raw gold and stones, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold manning operations, while (10) other individuals were arrested, and (07) hunting rifles, quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (121.6) tons, in addition to (35) quintals of tobacco were seized during operations distinct throughout the national territory. Similarly, the Border Guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs, thwarted attempts to smuggle quantities of fuel amounting to (20,247) liters in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tébessa, Souk Ahras and El -tarf.
On the other hand, the Coast Guard thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts at and proceeded to the rescue of (30) individuals aboard craft-built boats, while (407) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested throughout the national territory.
