Operational report of PNA from June 21st to 27th 2023

      Within the framework of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from June 21st to 27th 2023, several operations which led to high quality results that reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:

      Within the framework of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the efforts of the security services of People's National Army, the terrorist named "MELLOUKI Mohamed", alias "El-KAKAA" surrendered to the military authorities in Bordj Badji Mokhtar / 6th MR. The said terrorist who joined armed terrorist groups in the Sahel in 2012 had in his possession one (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, two (02) grenades, a quantity of ammunition and other objects.

      In the same context, detachments of People's National Army arrested (11) support elements for terrorist groups in different operations.

      Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and within the continuity with the sustained efforts aimed to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (79) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce (07) quintals and (08) kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, and seized (356,703) psychotropic tablets.

  

  

  

      In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and In Guezzam, PNA detachments arrested (322) individuals and seized (55) vehicles, (182) generators, (59)jackhammers , (04) metal detectors, (178 5) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, as well as quantities of explosives, detonating tools and equipment used in illicit gold manning operations, while (26) other individuals were arrested , and (09) hunting rifles, quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (84) tons, in addition to (190) tons of scrap copper and (11) quintals of tobacco were seized in separate operations across the national territory. Similarly, the Border Guards thwarted, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs services, attempts to smuggle quantities of fuel amounting to (135,968) litters in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tébessa, Souk Ahras and El-Tarf.

  

  

      In addition, the Coast Guard thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (45) individuals aboard craft-built boats, while (150) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
