General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA, on a working and inspection visit to the 2nd Military Region
Continuing the inspection visits to the various Military Regions, and within the framework of monitoring of combat preparation programs execution for the 2022/2023 training year, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, began this Monday, 29th May 2023, a working visit to the 2nd Military Region in Oran.
After the welcoming ceremony, given by Major General Mohamed Taieb BRAKNI, Commander of the 2nd Military Region, the General observed a minute’s silence in memory of the late Moudjahid "Ahmed Boudjenane" known as "Si Abbès ", whose headquarters of the Region bears his name. For the occasion, he laid a wreath of flowers in front of his commemorative stele and recited the Fatiha in his memory and that of the brave Chouhada.
Then, the General proceeded, in the presence of the Commander of the 2nd Military Region, to the inauguration of the new General Staff headquarters of the Region, and inquired closely its annexes and infrastructures, equipped with all the means and resources necessary for managers and staff to perfectly accomplish their vital missions.
During his meeting with executives and personnel of the 2nd Military Region, the General delivered an orientation speech followed by videoconference by all units of the Region, in which he underlined that the rigor and the effectiveness of PNA, in recent years, will be such as to enable it to preserve the legacy of the Chouhada, to preserve the security, the stability and the independence of the country and to protect its territorial and popular unity:
“Rigour and efficiency are the dominant qualities that have characterized the actions of People's National Army in recent years, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence. Indeed, our valiant Army has proven, on the ground, through tangible results, that it is of the lineage of national armies, whose personnel, driven by an unshakable will, and guided by the total dedication to the homeland, work tirelessly to bring together the factors of power, to achieve the ultimate objective of preserving the legacy of the brave Chouhada, through maintaining the security, stability and the independence of the country, as well as the protection of its territorial integrity and its popular unity".
The General wished, on this occasion, to show his great consideration for the efforts of the executives and the personnel of our Armed Forces which have led to remarkable results, both in terms of assimilation and execution of the preparation combat programs, as well as in the fight against terrorism, organized crime, illegal immigration and multifaceted trafficking:
"I would like to express my great consideration for the efforts of our executives and personnel accross all components of our Armed Forces and to salute their determination to contribute to the development of our combat and operational capabilities. This apperciation is all the more deserved since the results recorded are convincing, both in terms of execution and assimilation of combat preparation programs, and of the quality of the tactical and operational exercises, which are now carried out at the end and at the beginning of the training year, even during all the seasons of the year. This aspect constitutes one of the characteristics of the advanced stage reached by our army today.
Added to this are the considerable results achieved by our brave men in the field of the fight against terrorism, organized crime, and illegal immigration and multifaceted trafficking, particularly of drugs and narcotics. These highly significant results will undoubtedly contribute to clearing Algeria of harmful phenomena and will allow it to devote itself entirely to development efforts in all areas and at all levels".
The General welcomed the decision of the President of the Republic to allocate a budgetary envelope to erect a statue that immortalizes the memory and the history of Emir Abdelkader, as a symbol of Algerian Popular Resistance against the forces of colonization and tyranny:
"On the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the death of Emir Abdelkader Ben Mohiedine -may Allah rest his soul- celebrated on 26th May I salute the decision of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, to allocate a budgetary envelope to erect a statue that immortalizes the memory and the history of this great hero whose personality and great achievements remain the object of recognition, gratitude and pride of all the Algerian people, even the whole world, being a symbol of the Algerian Popular Resistance against the forces of colonization and tyranny, and a man who dedicated his life to upholding justice and serving his nation, Algeria.
This wise decision reflects the values of dedication that still characterize our people, and are anchored in the traditions of our great nation with its heroes, in order to remain forever the witness of the greatness of their achievements".
At the end of the meeting, the General gave the floor to the personnel of the region to express their concerns and proposals. On this occasion, they reiterated their commitment to fully assume the noble missions with which they are invested.
