Third day visit of General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA in the 3rd Military Region
Within the framework of his working and inspection visit to the 3rd Military Region, and after supervising, yesterday, a tactical exercise, "EL-FASL 2023", carried out with real ammunition, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA, went to the South Tindouf Operational Sector, where he supervised this Wednesday, 10th May 2023, the execution of a demonstration exercise with real ammunition "Azm 2023", sanctioning the year of combat readiness 2022-2023.
The exercise was carried out by the organic units of the 9th Armoured Brigade supported by units belonging to Land Forces and Air Forces, including fire support helicopters.
At the beginning, the General accompanied by Major General Mustapha SMAILI, Commander of the 3rd Military Region, followed a presentation by the Commander of the South Tindouf Operational Sector on the main idea and the stages of execution of this tactical exercise as well as its objectives, before going to the shooting range and manoeuvres of the South Tindouf Operational Sector, where he followed the progress of the exercise, carried out in conditions close to reality, according to the traced plan, and whose main objectives are the training of the staffs in the preparation of combat actions and the consolidation of their experience in terms of control of the units able to guarantee coherence and interoperability between the subunits, and allowing crews to acquire more skills in the use of weapon systems and to assess their operational readiness and their ability to carry out the assigned missions in all circumstances.
The execution of this exercise highlighted the capacity of the participating units to successfully carry out the assigned missions, in particular through the good mastery by the crews of armaments and high-tech weapon systems. As he highlighted the development and operational availability achieved by the various components of People's National Army battle corps.
At the end of the exercise, the General held a meeting with the personnel of the participating units, who were congratulated for the sustained efforts they made during the combat preparation year and during the preparation and the execution of this exercise. He also informed them of the particular attention he gives to the supervision of this type of exercise, which allows an objective assessment of the degree of execution of the various phases of the combat readiness program.
Then, the General proceeded to the inspection of the units under the 9th Armoured Brigade and the units that participated in this exercise.
